ABOUT US

Established in January 2006, the Bermuda Health Council is evolving from a theoretical concept into a regulatory force ensuring healthcare quality and sustainability. Staffed by a team of nine trained professionals with over 100 years of experience in administration, healthcare and finance, the Health Council draws upon the expertise and experience of its 15 Council members to oversee the healthcare system in Bermuda.

In 1993 The Government of Bermuda, in response to community-wide concerns over the escalating cost of healthcare in Bermuda, and a growing public concern over the quality of healthcare services available on the Island at the time, appointed a committee chaired by Senator Oughton, to review the healthcare system.
