Immigration and Visa requirements
Passports
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements. All visitors require a valid passport to enter Bermuda. Participants are also responsible to ensure they have a valid passport to enter any international ports on the way to Bermuda. All overseas guests may enter Bermuda via the United States or Canada. The following ports are three hours or less flying time to Bermuda: Atlanta, Boston, Miami, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Toronto.
Visa procedures
Some participants require a visa to enter Bermuda. Please ensure you apply to the nearest British embassy in your country. If you are travelling on a passport from the countries listed below, you will require a visa to enter Bermuda. You may contact the conference coordinator tvwedderburn@bhec.bm if you require assistance with an entry visa. Please visit the Department of Immigration website at www.gov.bm for additional information and other countries that may not be listed below.
Holders of British National (Overseas) passports do NOT require visas for Bermuda. Visa controlled nationals do NOT require entry visas if you have the right to reside in the US, UK (no limit on stay) or Canada and are in possession of proof of such status and a valid passport.
Participants may also require a visa to enter the United States or Canada. We recommend that once you are registered you apply immediately for your visa as in some countries the procedure may take some time (usually 6-8 weeks). An individual invitation letter will be issued for confirmed participants upon request.
Caribbean countries that require a visa to enter Bermuda:
- Cuba
- Dominican Republic
- Haiti
- Jamaica
Insurance
Participants are strongly encouraged to get health/accident insurance before leaving your home country. Travel insurance is also recommended.
