Fee schedules, related to standard hospital benefits, are reviewed annually to ensure that health professionals and businesses are fairly compensated for their services. The economic conditions of the current year and the following year are also taken into consideration to ensure there is no undue financial pressure on the health system as a whole.

Healthcare businesses are invited to submit healthcare proposals to the Health Council to be included as a Standard Hospital Benefit. All residents in Bermuda are required to have insurance coverage for at least Standard Hospital Benefits.
